.About MultiMail 2.0MultiMail 2.0 is a multi-threaded SMTP stress testing program which also doubles up as a handytool for anti-Spam software development. It starts multiple threads, each sendinga large number of mails in parallel to a specified SMTP server. MultiMail 2.0 isfreeware and can be used by anyone without the author's explicit permission. How it came about? Version 1.0I wrote the first version while I was developing my own anti-Spam program Pop 3 Protector(discontinued). I used it to bombard test POP accounts with a large amount ofemail from multiple fake email addresses and with multiple subject headers.A few months ago here the current time is Feb 2002, I was asked to try out three different Linux based SMTPservers and decide on the fastest one. That's when I got a chance to use thistool once again.

I sent huge amounts of mail through each server and recordedconnection and mail delivery speeds. To increase the load I made the programmulti-threaded. The user can set the number of threads to use. In thisparticular version I have restricted this number to 10, to prevent maliciouspeople from misusing this program. But for anyone who wants touse this as an SMTP stress tester, 10 threads running in parallel, each threadsending 1000 mails each, should be quite good enough.Actually there is a sneaky way to over-ride the restrictions, which is byrunning multiple instances of the program.

Feb 20, 2014 net 2.0.1 MailSystem is a suite of.NET components that provide users with an extensive set of email tools. MailSystem provides full support for SMTP, POP3, IMAP4, NNTP, MIME, S/MIME, OpenPGP, DNS, vCard, vCalendar, Anti-Spam (Bayesian, RBL, DomainKeys), Queueing, Mail.
But for some strange reason I havenoticed that this will considerably slow down the user's machine and I hope thatwill deter people from trying it out. Version 2.0Version 2.0 uses the ATL7 SMTP and MIME classes and so I have removed all myWinsock-SMTP-chat code from the program. This has enabled me to add support forattachments which is quite handy. Sending mail using the ATL7 classes. Include the required header file#include.

Lp1982 3-Sep-07 0:153-Sep-07 0:15Hi,I am using MultiMail on Windows XP. My Mail server is Microsoft Exchange Mail Server. The behavior I observed is that,The number of connections established to the server are not the number of threads I chose, instead the number of total mails. For example, If I select 5 threads and 10 mails for each thread, then 5 connections should be established and 10 mails should be sent on each connection. But 50 connections were established. When I used the MultiMail with Windows 2000, only as many connections as the number of threads were established. Is this expected behavior?
Dboychuk69 5-Jan-07 9:255-Jan-07 9:25FYI -1) Start program and enter information for sending messages(sending 1 message with 1 attachement)-Completed2)Without closing the application I select 2 messages. 2 messages are send but each message now contains 2 attachments.-Completed3)Without closing the application I now select 3 messages.
3 messages are send but each message now contains 3 attachments. Is there a fix for this issue, or do I have to close the application, delete the configuration file, and open that application each time. Jeff666 14-Nov-05 3:1414-Nov-05 3:14Unfortunately, the CSMTPConnection class this program is based on is buggy. The AtlSmtpReadData function does not wait / check for the SMTP command end of line terminator. Nor does it look for the multi-line terminator. Since command responses can be send over multiple packets, ( which happend in my testing ) this class can easily get out of sync with the SMTP communication flow.
The net result is that the messages are not correctly sent. This class will also not handle multi-lined SMTP responses.I think you will find most of the other bugs reported here will trace back to this. Unfortunately, this Microsoft bug renders this application useless. To bad.- modified at 9:15 Monday 14th November, 2005. Chrisblandford 30-Oct-05 3:2930-Oct-05 3:29When an attachment is added, the Content-Type header gets written like this:Content-Type: application/msword;charset='Windows-1252'name='Email.doc'Note the second line does not have the ';' separator. This causes some mail systems that consider non-RFC compliance to be 'malicious' to block mails e.g. Clearswift MIMEsweeper.I'm not absolutely certain where this line gets added, it might be in a Microsoft library called by MultiMail.I used a hex editor to fix the bug like this:1.
Find the FIRST charset= string in the EXE.2. Replace the stringcharset='%s'withcharset=%s;BLANKwhere BLANK is ONE blank space character.3. Save the hex editted file.By the way, this is a great little tool! Frank Carius 15-Oct-03 1:2315-Oct-03 1:23Hello, i found your Multimail today and i like it to stress Test my exchange installation.I know there is a source code, so i can 'enhance' it for my own and i will do that so make it more useful for me.Meybe this feedback is welcome:I would like to add a 'counter' to the subject.maybe Subject + #thread +#Message etcSo its nice to follow that messages in an multi Server environment.
To find out routing problems and 'lost' messages. If you ever want to build the news version, maybe you would like to add that. Nish Nishant 4-Oct-03 9:234-Oct-03 9:23The ATL7 CSmtpConnection class does not seem to support (at first glance anyway) authentication. Anyway since the idea is that this tool will be used by sysadmins and other users with legal purposes, then they should be able to enable relaying for a particular IP address and remove authentication requirements for that IP.This will also hopefully discourage spammers and kids with silly mail-bombing ideasNish(coming soon.)(My first novel)Come with me if you want to live. Nish Nishant 24-Feb-02 0:2524-Feb-02 0:25Can a few people kindly volunteer to test out the tool. Not the zip here. But a new one I'd like to have tested out thoroughly before I update the article. After Anders Molin has made me aware of a problem with mail.nimo.dk, I realized that I was doing one recv too many. But I didnt get a problem with any of the Linux servers as the greeting string was long enough so that two recvs were called early.
I assume that must have been the cause of error. Now what happened was that suddenly after DATA was sent, a recv is coming extra which means the socket blocks endlessly. Thus Anders was right about never sniffing out the rn.rn, but not for the reasons he assumed.
It wasn't that they were never sent, but rather, a recv was blocking endlessly. Thanks Nishp.s.
